<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cartridge suitable for a small-sized fuel cell suitable for use as a power source for a portable electronic apparatus such as a portable phone, a notebook type personal computer or PDA. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cartridge A includes a fuel storage body 10 to which capillary force for storing liquid fuel F is applied, and the liquid fuel is supplied to a fuel cell body by an inserted fuel supply core. Substitution liquid G incompatible to the stored liquid fuel F, and having surface tension lower than the liquid fuel F is filled in the fuel storage body 10.
