PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter holder for allowing easy and quick drainage in the holder and easy replacement of a filter with simple operation while reducing the possibility of exposure with shorter replacing work. SOLUTION: The filter holder comprises a fixed supporting member 11 and an elevatable supporting member 12 opposed to each other and having flow paths 4, 5, respectively, through which fluid passes, an elevating means 15 for elevating the elevatable supporting member 12, and a storage chamber 21 communicated with the flow path 5 and having a capacity varied with the elevating operation of the elevatable supporting member 12. At the highest position of the elevatable supporting member 12 between the fixed supporting member 11 and itself, a holder portion 3 is held in which the filter 23 is put. The filter 23 is removable at the lowest position, and the capacity of the storage chamber 21 is the minimum at the highest position. As the elevatable supporting member 12 is elevated down, the capacity of the storage chamber 21 is increased. The capacity of the storage chamber 21 is maximum at the lowest position.
