PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold relative positions of an information reading part of an ink cartridge holder and an information storage part of an ink cartridge which require accurate positioning, even if the ink cartridge has instability with respect to the ink cartridge holder. SOLUTION: This ink cartridge 300 for supplying ink to a recording apparatus 10 comprises: an ink cartridge body 302 wherein the ink is stored and which is approximately box shapeed; the information storage part 314 which has a connection electrode part 316 provided in a part of the first side surface 310 of the body 302; an ink supply part 322 which is provided on a front surface 320 crossing the first side surface 310; and a positioning part 326 which guides a positioning member 220 of the recording apparatus 10 near the electrode part 316 on the front surface 320, in a direction almost parallel to the electrode part 316 and in such a manner as to face the electrode part 316.
