<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical system which is provided with a collimator lens, having well-compensated curvature of field and which is suitably used in a multibeam scanning optical system, and in an optical system recording and reproducing device where plural laser diodes are set as a light source. <P>SOLUTION: In the multibeam scanning optical system, the optical system is set as one provided with a refracting surface which is made concave toward the light source side.
