PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input/output device which improves the operability of an operator, without the need of performing the exchange work of a recording liquid tank cartridge or the like in the dark. SOLUTION: The image input/output device, comprising a scanner unit arranged in the upper stage of a device main body and a liquid jet recording unit installed in the lower stage of the device body, is provided with a window for making light pass through or transmit between the scanner unit and the liquid-jet recording unit, an exposure control means for exposing a light source which linearly illuminates an original platen, when a liquid-jet recording unit maintenance mode is selected, and a luminous flux irradiation means for making the luminous flux from the light source pass or be transmitted through the window, to irradiate the periphery of a liquid jetting recording head inside the liquid-jet recording unit.
