PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for determining the angular position and the radial direction position of a rotating device 20. SOLUTION: The rotating device 20 has either of a slot 24 and a projection on the rotating device 20. The rotating device 20 is centered at a center point 26. This method includes a step for generating the first signal by using the first sensor 30 arranged close to the slot 24 or the projection of the rotating device 20, a step for determining the first angular position of the rotating device 20 by specifying the first disturbed part 133 in the first signal, a step for acquiring the second undisturbed position signal by removing the first disturbed part 133 in the first signal, and a step for determining the first radial direction coordinate of the center point 26 of the rotating device 20 based on the second undisturbed position signal.
