PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device enhancing operation property of an acceleration pedal by a driver. SOLUTION: The vehicle control device for controlling magnitude of acceleration pedal reaction force in the vehicle is provided with a gear ratio detection means for detecting a driving gear ratio of the vehicle; and an acceleration pedal reaction force control means for controlling the acceleration pedal reaction force based on the acceleration pedal reaction force characteristic according to the magnitude of the driving gear ratio detected by the gear ratio detection means. The acceleration pedal reaction force control means controls the acceleration pedal reaction force based on the acceleration pedal reaction force characteristic that an increase slope of the acceleration pedal reaction force relative to the acceleration pedal opening is small as the driving gear ratio detected by the gear ratio detection means becomes small such that a relationship of the acceleration pedal stepping force and vehicle acceleration obtained by it becomes constant even when the driving gear ratio is different.
