PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure; and to reduce cost, by rationally energizing an output shaft and a chuck sleeve. SOLUTION: In an impact driver 1 having a vibration mechanism 7, the chuck sleeve 109 is out-fitted to the tip of an anvil 8 arranged so as to be longitudinally slowly movable in the shaft direction for longitudinally moving in the shaft direction by a predetermined stroke, and is energized to a retreat position abutting on an inner race of a front ball bearing 69 by a coil spring 110 out-fitted to the anvil 8 in its front. A projection strip 111 projected on the inner periphery of the chuck sleeve 109, presses balls 112 and 112 in the anvil 8 to the axial side in this retreat position, and fixes a bit inserted into an insertion hole 113 for preventing slipping-out. The anvil 8 is energized to an advance position by a coil spring 110 by allowing the backwardly energized chuck sleeve 109 to abut on the ball bearing 69. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
