A plate (2) for suspension of an impeller (3) with motor (4) of a fan used for transport of air therein with the axis of rotation of the impeller substantially perpendicular to the plate, said plate being adapted to form a part of a housing (5) of a said fan enclosing said impeller with motor and the plate rising towards the location for suspension of the impeller with motor by that located on a higher level than the periphery of the plate, is provided with at least two stiffening indentations (17) extending from positions at the periphery of the plate separated by a substantial distance towards the location for the suspension of the impeller with motor.
