The device has a mast (1), fixed to the ground, on which are assembled nine independent units rotating freely around the mast. The units carry arches (7) that drive covers to cover and uncover a swimming pool or a basin according to the principle of a fan. The mast has a winch (2) permitting to raise the arches, through cables, to uncover the pool/basin while unhooking a rubber band (9) from its retractable stop (8). Each independent unit has two Teflon guide rings for maintaining a tube welded with two plates.
