An air conditioning apparatus is provided with an indoor unit which stores a heat exchanger and an air blowing fan for blowing out the air heat-exchanged by the heat exchanger into a room in a main body. In an air passageway formed in the main body for connecting a suction port with an outlet, a filter, the heat exchanger and the air blowing fan are provided, and a dust collecting part for removing and collecting dusts on the filter is provided in the main body. The filter is divided into a plurality of pieces in a shifting direction and each piece is permitted to reciprocate to pass through the dust collecting part.
