PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly expand the dynamic range of optical detection. SOLUTION: A selection row 22, a first shutter row 23 and a second shutter row 24 are selected by a V selection means 7, one frame is arbitrarily divided into three, and signals of two periods thereof are outputted independently. If one frame is comprised of a 500-row period, on the assumption that there are 400 rows from the first shutter row to the second shutter row and there are 5 rows from the second shutter row to the selection row, an output 1 from the first shutter row to the second shutter row becomes an image having a long storage period and resulting from sharply imaging a low-luminosity area, and an output 2 from the second shutter row to the selected row becomes an image having a short storage period and resulting from imaging a high-luminosity area, where the dynamic range is 80-times, without saturation.
