PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device and a driving method thereof that can further reduce the power consumption. SOLUTION: A circuit, which resonates with an inductor is coupled to generate a voltage difference between the two electrodes before a power recovery circuit, uses a capacitive load formed between two electrodes, as it is, to perform power recovering operation between the two electrodes, and the power recovery circuit is used to maintain the voltage difference between the two electrodes after the power recovering operation is performed between the two electrodes. Namely, the power recovery circuit which performs power recovering operation by using the capacitive load of a panel, as it is, performs power recovering operation, when voltages at the two electrodes (VO1 and VE1) are converted from the same voltage level, to other voltage levels and vice versa, thereby further reducing the power consumption.
