Diaphragm pump has hydraulically driven diaphragm (1). Radial undercut (14) is provided in pump casing (11) or pump cover (10) in lesser axial distance for clamping area (12) of diaphragm on inner circumference. Undercut is hydraulically connected with hydraulic area (3) and/or conveyor area (2) and forms a flexible lip (15), which circulates in area of diaphragm clamp. The flexible lip is charged on the side away from the diaphragm clamp from respective fluid pressure. The thickness and/or radial dimension of the lip are developed in such a way that the diaphragm pre-stressing is constantly held independent from respective fluid pressure.
