<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manganese oxide capable of obtaining an excellent low-rate property. <P>SOLUTION: This manganese oxide is expressed by a composition formula MnS<SB>a</SB>H<SB>b</SB>Me<SB>x</SB>O<SB>c</SB>-zH<SB>2</SB>O (where Me is a kind of or combination of two or more kinds of Ti, Ca, Mg and Ln), where a is 0.009-0.015, b is 0.3-0.4, c is 2.10-2.20, x is 0-0.015 and z is larger than 0.
