PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a metal-coated wire extremely simple in manufacturing and hardly bringing forth defects. SOLUTION: The method is to manufacture a metal-coated wire 10 as a connection cable especially for a measurement sensor to advantageously detect a physical property of measuring gas such as temperature, particle content and a component density from an internal combustion engine. The metal-coated wire includes a coating tube 25, inside which an insulation body 21 is attached. The insulation body 21 has a form with at least one opening 23 to store an electric conductor 41, and has at least one target fracture part 22. A plurality of individual insulation members 31 equipped with at least one opening 23 respectively to store the electric conductor 41 are formed by a fracture of at least one target fracture part 22 of the insulation body 21.
