PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyoxyethylene alkylene ether in which odor can be reduced. SOLUTION: The method for producing the polyoxyethylene alkylene ether salt comprises a first step for reacting a polyoxyethylene alkylene ether represented by the general formula (I): RO(CH2CH2O)nH (R is a straight-chain or branched chain alkyl group; n is an integer of 1-20) with a sulfating agent in the presence of a compound having a carboxy group and a second step for carrying out neutralization treatment of the reaction product in the first step.
