PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to freely utilize digital content with high image quality. SOLUTION: When an application for operating a receiver is activated in a personal computer connected to the receiver via USBI/F51, a microcomputer 53 controls a switch 56 on the basis of information to be transmitted from the personal computer to extract the data of any of content received via a tuner 54 or content acquired via iLINKI/F55, and controls a converter 57 as necessary to convert the image quality of content. Then, an image compositing unit 59 composites the data of the content with a slave screen of GUI for operating the receiver of the personal computer to be inputted via DVI/IF58.
