PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion film narrow in the half-value width of an absorption and excellent in a color reproduction, a photoelectric conversion element and an image pickup element (preferably a color image sensor) and to provide a photoelectric conversion film high in a photoelectric conversion efficiency, excellent in durability, the photoelectric conversion element and the image pickup element, etc. SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion film containing a hole-transporting material which an organic photoelectric conversion film inserted at least two electrodes becomes from a coumarin compound having a specific structure, the photoelectric conversion element and the image pickup element, and a method of applying an electric field to them.
