PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technical means capable of realizing improvement of deflection sensitivity and suppression of crosstalk voltage with an extremely simple structure, and of restraining cost increase at the same time. SOLUTION: This deflection yoke 1 for controlling an electron beam is provided with: a first deflection means 2 for deflecting the electron beam in the horizontal and vertical directions; and a second deflection means for deflecting the electron beam in the horizontal and vertical directions. The deflection yoke is so structured that a horizontal 6 and vertical deflection coils constituting the second deflection means 3 is provided with a first sub-coil and a second sub-coil; the first sub-coil is wound around the first deflection means and the second sub-coil is wound around the second deflection means; the first sub-coil is electrically connected to the second sub-coil; and, when it is assumed that the inductance of the first sub-coil, and the inductance of the second sub-coil are L<SB>s1</SB>and L<SB>s2</SB>, respectively, 0.005≤L<SB>s1</SB>/L<SB>s2</SB>≤0.7 is satisfied.
