PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for moving picture editing that enable anyone to easily extract a desired scene and leaves it separately as a moving picture, regardless of age or sex, and are easy to use. SOLUTION: The moving image editing device is equipped with a reproduction and display means (16) of reproducing and displaying a source moving image file, a reproduction and display position information storing means (13) of storing the reproduction and display position information of the source moving image file being reproduced and displayed once a user inputs a scene extraction point with arbitrary timing during the reproduction and display of the source moving image file, a scene-extracting means (15) of taking the reproduction and display position information out of the reproduction and display position information storage means, after the source moving picture file has been reproduced and displayed, and extracting the scene that the reproduction and display position information has indicated from the source moving image file, and an editing-completed moving image file storage means (13) of storing the scene extracted by the scene extracting means as an editing-completed moving image file.
