PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element driving circuit which realizes rapid operation of a light emitting element while improving a duty cycle and ringing of a light emission signal of the light emitting element such as a semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: The light emitting element driving circuit has a compensating circuit 14 besides a semiconductor laser 11, a laser driving circuit 12, a head amplifier circuit 13, a bias current circuit 15, a monitor circuit 16, a reference voltage generating circuit 17, and a comparison circuit 18. The compensating circuit 14 compensates a driving current of the head amplifier circuit 13, and is constituted of a fixed current source circuit. That is, the compensating circuit 14 is connected parallel to an MOS transistor M15 which is a variable current source constituting the head amplifier circuit 13, and supplies a prescribed compensating current to the head amplifier circuit 13.
