PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-barrier film which is useful as a packaging material in various fields such as foods, medical supplies, and precise electronic components and excellent in flexibility, transparency, moisture resistance, solvent resistance, etc., and keeps gas-barrier properties, an oxygen-cutoff property in particular, for a long time in high humidity even when an overcoat layer is not formed. SOLUTION: The gas-barrier film has a coat layer comprising a mixture of the hydrolyzate of an alkoxy silane and polyvinyl alcohol (the weight ratio of silicon oxide produced from the hydrolyzate of the alkoxy silane and/or the polycondensate of the alkoxy silane to polyvinyl alcohol is 50/50-80/20) on at least one surface of a substrate of a plastic film, no overcoat layer on the coat layer, and an oxygen permeability measured at 20°C in 90% RH after humidity adjustment for 48 h in the same conditions of 10 cc/(m<SP>2</SP>24 Hr atm) or below.
