PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore a main battery from a sub-battery when the main battery is exhausted, in a battery charger that charges the main battery and the sub-battery. SOLUTION: The battery charger is provided with an auxiliary output terminal 2c equipped with a rectifying power supply circuit 2 with a voltage adjustment function that outputs a DC voltage adjusted so as not to exceed a set value between output terminals 2a, 2b by rectifying an output of an AC generator 1 that is driven by an engine, and a charging switch 10 that is brought into an on-state when the generator 1 generates the output is arranged between the auxiliary output terminal 2c and the output terminal 2a. A diode Dp whose anode is oriented to the auxiliary output terminal side is arranged in parallel with the charging control switch 10. The main battery 3 is connected between the output terminals 2a, 2b, and the sub-battery 4 is connected between the auxiliary output terminal and the negative-pole side output terminal 2b of the rectifying power supply circuit.
