PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device capable of continuously inverting a plurality of recording paper sheets and performing dual face printing on the plurality of recording paper sheets at a high speed. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording device 10 comprises an ink jet recording head 30 to form an image by discharging ink droplets on a recording paper sheet P, and an inversion mechanism 22 to re-feed the recording paper sheet to a printing unit 14 by inverting the side of the recording paper sheet with the image formed thereon. The inversion mechanism 22 comprises a plurality of inverter parts 26 to drop the conveyed recording paper sheet P in an erected state, a plurality of gate parts 28 capable of taking an attitude to guide the recording paper sheet P to each of the plurality of inverter parts 26 and an attitude to evacuate the recording paper sheet P in a discharging manner from each of the plurality of inverter parts 26, and a conveying unit 24 for inversion to convey the recording paper sheet P discharged from the inverter parts 26 to the printing unit 14 in a re-feeding manner.
