<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of reducing its size and thickness while maintaining a necessary light volume, and to provide a projector using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 10 is composed of a light source lamp 20 irradiating light; a reflector 30 arranged near to a focus A at one side on a focus axis C connecting the focus A and a focus B, having an axisymmetrical reflection face 31 making the light irradiated from the light source lamp converge on a part near to the focus B on the focus axis and having a shape with a reflection face cut off by a plane E crossing the focus axis at an angle not vertical to the focus axis; and a planar mirror 40 arranged on a plane with the reflector cut off, and reflecting the light converged by the reflector and the light irradiated from the light source lamp, and converging them on a position D different from the two focuses. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
