PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device of an internal combustion engine capable of avoiding strong contact of a coil spring with a recessed part opening part, without shallowing the depth of a recessed part. SOLUTION: This valve timing control device has an ignition timing delay oil chamber 600 and an ignition timing advance oil chamber 500 formed of a vane 210 of a vane rotor 20, a coil spring 300 arranged in the ignition timing advance oil chamber 500 and operating energizing force in the mutually separating direction of a shoe 110 and a first vane 210, and coil spring holding parts 111 and 211 for holding the coil spring 300 arranged in the shoe 110 and the first vane 210.
