<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and reliably detect a symptom of generation of wrinkles in a recording material with an image formed thereon. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming device 100, visible images are formed on a paper sheet based on the image data transmitted from a host device such as a personal computer and a server machine and the image data generated by an image reading unit. The image forming device 100 refers to the content of the image data, and specifies the regularity of the image. The image forming device 100 reads the visible images on the paper sheet by a sensor 45 after the image is fixed on the paper sheet, and determines whether or not the regularity of the visible images is disturbed. If it is determined that the regularity is disturbed, information related to generation of the wrinkles on the paper sheet is output.
