PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag for a front passenger seat capable of softly receiving and protecting an upper body of an occupant and being easily installed even if a kind of the vehicle is changed. SOLUTION: The air bag 20 for the front passenger seat is provided with left and right shoulder restriction parts 21, 22 arranged in parallel along a left/right direction while a portion between both is recessed to a front side, extending at a rod-like shape in an approximately vertical direction and receiving left and right shoulder parts MS of the occupant M respectively. The air bag 20 is provided with an upper support part 30 at an upper end side for supporting it near an upper end 3a of a windshield 3 such that movement of the left and right shoulder restriction part to a front side can be restricted at completion of inflation; and a lower support part 31 at a lower end side for abutting and supporting a front surface side to a rear surface 1b side of an instrument panel 1. Further, in the air bag 20, a contact reduction part 33 capable of suppressing the contact of the windshield 3 and the instrument panel 1 is arranged at the front surface sides near a lower part near the upper support part at completion of inflation and near an upper part near the lower support part.
