<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the setting of increase or decrease in the number of wavelengths inexpensively and efficiently for a package actuation control device for determining a trigger and a procedure for package actuation corresponding to each wavelength to be wavelength division multiplexed in a wavelength division multiplex transmission apparatus, without drastic changes in the fundamental configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The package actuation control device comprises a monitor means and a control means. The monitor means monitors the operation status of an optical module which generates each optical signal to be wavelength division multiplexed into a wavelength division multiplex optical signal. The control means regulates output of an optical signal by packages which generate the optical signal to be further wavelength division multiplexed into a wavelength division multiplex optical signal during a period when any of the operation status monitored by the monitor means is not a steady state, and releases the regulation of output of optical signal by one package out of these packages, whenever the period passes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
