<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with an increase in the speed of data transfer while maintaining the existing standards of an IC card. <P>SOLUTION: A host device 1 and the IC card 2 are provided with a connector for providing cable communication between the host device 1 and the IC card 2 by interconnecting the host device 1 and the IC card 2. Also, a wireless interface for providing wireless communication between the host device 1 and the IC card 2 is provided. Upon detecting the insertion of the IC card 3, the host device 1 confirms if the IC card 3 has a wireless interface; if it has, wireless data transfer is performed; otherwise, data transfer is performed using a wired interface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
