PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct an image processing system which can collectively process image data whose formats, color spaces, etc. are different, because opportunity to carry out image processing of media data such as photograph data, etc. in a terminal device, increases recently in accordance with spreads of digital still cameras, etc. SOLUTION: Hardware which performs image processing is divided into a prestage image processor 12 of an image input part 11 side, and a poststage image processor 24 of an image output 26 side, and the poststage image processor 24 has a function to carry out color conversion processing which is necessary for the image output 26. Compressed data which are input from the image input 11, and compressed in a compressor 16, and compressed data supplied from an external part through a PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) bus 27 are performed in an expansion processing in a common expansion part 22, and output to the image output part 26, and at the same time, the data are selectively transferred from the poststage image processor 24 to the prestage image processing part 12.
