PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire efficiently improved in water discharge performance. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire 10 has a plurality of blocks 26 demarcated by a circumferential groove 22 and a lateral groove 24 in a tread part. Each of the blocks 26 has a circumferential sipe 34 of which both the ends are opened to the side walls of the block, and the circumferential sipe 34 has an enlarged sectional area part 36 where the sectional area is locally large in sipe width directional sections in the middle part of the sipe depth direction. Thereby, water between the blocks 26 and the road surface enters the circumferential sipes 34, and is stored in the enlarged sectional area parts 36, then discharged from the openings at both the ends of the circumferential sipes 34 to the outside of the block side wall. Accordingly, the pneumatic tire can be made to have a structure easy to suck up water into the circumferential sipes 34 from the ground plane, and its water discharge performance can efficiently be improved.
