PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid opening and closing device suppressing the height of the lid at the time of opening it not increasing operations and easily operated. SOLUTION: The device has the lid 20 openably and closably covering a storing portion 30 arranged in a rice cooker body 10, an arm 18a whose upper end is coupled to the rear portion of the lid 20 via a leaf spring 19 and whose lower end turnably supported by supporting shaft 21 located below the upper face portion of the rice cooker body 10, a sub arm 18b whose upper end turnably supported at the rear portion of the lid 20, a coupling member 35 whose one end is turnably supported by the supporting shaft 21 and whose other end is coupled to the lower end of the sub arm 18b, and a kick spring 23 turning the arm 18a rearward, the height of the lid 20 at the time of opening of the lid 20 can be suppressed, the lid can be easily opened without increasing the operations, the lid 20 is supported by the leaf spring 19 and the sub arm 18b, thereby the weight of the lid 20 is not concentrated to one point, there is no need to increase the strength of parts more than necessary, the device can be manufactured at low cost.
