<p>The invention concerns an apparatus for massaging the human body in particular for performing an assess-press-pull type massage comprising a housing (1) provided with means for forming a fold of the skin consisting of two skin clamping jaws (3a, 3b) pivoting about an axis parallel to the plane of the skin, bearing at their ends, massaging fingers (4a, 4b) and means for pivoting the two jaws (3a, 3b) one towards the other and inversely, so as to respectively enclose and release the skin between them to form a skin fold, the means pivoting the jaws (3a, 3b) being controlled by control means (5) located in the housing (1), and a remote control (15) capable of transmitting data to the control means (5) of the housing (1). The invention is characterized in that the remote control (15), placed in the patient's hands, comprises at least one control (17) which the patient activates when the force applied between the jaws (3a, 3b) upon formation of the first fold provides enough pain, called pain threshold, the activation of said control (17) delivering a signal transmitted by control means (5) which record in a storage unit (20) the force applied between the jaws (3a, 3b) corresponding to a pain threshold such that, when the other skin folds are formed subsequently, the control means (5) control the two jaws (3a, 3b) so as to limit the force applied between them to a level not exceeding the patient's pain threshold.</p> |
