An elongate prosthesis is fixed to a bed of biocompatible granular material by striking on the prosthesis in its longitudinal direction, a part of the prosthesis positioned in the bone cavity and projecting from the bed. A continuous ring of flexible, plastic or non-essentially elastic material is compacted and compressed to fill out the distance between the projecting prosthesis part and the opposite wall of the cavity. |
