PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress sticking of an oil seal on an engine block during operation in a vicinity of a one-way clutch constructing a starter device of the engine. SOLUTION: When drive time T exceeds a threshold Tth, start signal for starting a start motor 12 is turned on by ECU 20 (S104). Consequently, the oil seal 17a is slid on the engine block 24 for only a predetermined time (S106) by driving a starter motor 12 for only the predetermined time (S105). Even if the engine 1 continuously operates, sticking of the oil seal 17a on the engine block 24 can be suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
