<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hybrid vehicle in which acceptability of regeneration energy is enhanced by accelerating discharge of an energy storage device within such a range as the battery voltage is not lower than an induced voltage. <P>SOLUTION: Maximum motor power, i.e. the maximum power capable of outputting from a motor (3), is calculated based on the difference between the induced voltage of the motor (3) and the voltage of an energy storage device (4).
