PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a portable information terminal with which the brightness of its display screen is not troublesome to a user and the information in the display screen is easy to grasp. SOLUTION: The portable information terminal is equipped with a display section 101 for displaying the first information and the second information on the screen, and a control section 110 changing coloration or contrast on the screen and performing control in such a manner that the first information maintains the display on the screen and the second information ends the display. As a result, the amount of light of the display screen is changed and the amount of information is reduced, and the brightness of the display screen is not troublesome to the user and the information in the display screen is made easier to grasp.
