PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentrated composition of damping water for a lithographic printing plate which is safe and ideally suited for working environments as a substitute for isopropyl alcohol-based one and shows excellent printing stability, successfully stable printability even under the conditions of a member rotating at a high velocity and good shelf stability despite its nature of thickness. SOLUTION: The concentrated composition of damping water for a lithographic printing plate contains 2 to <40 mass% propylene glycol and 7 to <40 mass% dipropylene glycol mono n-butyl ether or propylene glycol monomethyl ether.
