PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the inside of an imaging apparatus main body is exposed and incompletely protected due to a space part in the conventional imaging apparatus where the light emitting part of a flash device is attached to the edge part of a link mechanism, and when the light emitting part is moved to a pop-up position by the link mechanism, the space part is formed thereat. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, the light emitting surface 8a of the light emitting part 8 of the flash device 4 can get in/out of a camera main body 2. The light emitting part 8 is provided to turn by about 90°at the corner part of the camera main body 2 where an upper surface and a front where a photographic lens 3a is exposed cross with each other, and the light emitting part 8 has a casing 9 having an almost rectangular parallelepiped shape. The light emitting surface 8a is arranged on one surface of the casing 9 and the light emitting part 8 is turned by about 90°, whereby the light emitting surface is selectively moved to a using position where it is exposed to the front of the camera main body 2 at using time and a housing position where it is opposed to the inside the camera main body 2 at non-using time.
