PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a work for the user (operator) in copying a large volume of originals and to reduce the copying time. SOLUTION: A CPU 201 of a copying machine performs a control for respectively setting a self-machine as a parent machine and other copying machines as child machines, of having the self-machine's ADF to auto-feed each original on the original table one by one, when an original is placed on an original table of ADF of own machine's and on an original table of at least one slave machine's ADF respectively, of having a self-machine's scanner 50 to sequentially read image of each original, and of having a MEM-C205 or HDD 207 of the own machine to store each of the image data; and a control of having the slave machine's ADF to auto-feed each original on the original table one by one, of having the slave machine's scanner to sequentially read image of the each original, having IEEE1394I/F400 of the slave machine, to transfer each of the image data to the own machine, and of having the MEM-C205 or HDD207 of the own-machine to store them in parallel.
