PHYSICALLY PROPERTY MEASURING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To measure the physical properties of a fine region of a specimen non-destructively. CONSTITUTION:A surface acoustic wave speed or an ultrasonic attenuation constant are calculated from V(z) curve which is obtained by transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic wave between a probe 3 and a specimen 6 while relatively moving the ultrasonic probe 3 in vertical direction for the specimen 6. The physical property values such as the hardness of a fine region of the specimen 6 are obtained non-destructively from the surface acoustic wave speed, etc.
