摘要 <p>The conventional technology for analyzing DNA sequences as its fundamental principle relates to fluorescent detection has required expensive complex optical systems and laser sources. There is provided a field-effect device for gene detection, comprising a gate part and, immobilized thereby, a single stranded nucleic acid probe, which field-effect device is so structured that hybridization is carried out at the gate part to thereby form a double stranded DNA, subsequently DNA polymerase and a single substrate are added to thereby induce an elongation reaction, and thereafter any change of electrical characteristics of field-effect device brought about by the elongation reaction is measured to thereby accomplish an analysis of base sequence. As any single base elongation reaction at the gate part can be directly converted to an electrical signal, the need to install expensive laser and complex optical system can be eliminated and there can be provided a compact genetic polymorphism detection system capable of measuring with high precision.</p>
