<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve machining efficiency in a laser machining apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A machining tool 2 is attached at the tip of arm of a 6-shaft robot 1 actuated by #1-#6 robot shafts which are controlled by a robot control unit 10. A machining head 3 is set on a horizontal motion mechanism (linear motor) 7 installed on a support base 6 of the horizontal motion mechanism, while the support base 6 is supported by a carrier 4 movable on a vertical motion mechanism 5. The vertical and horizontal motion mechanisms 5 and 7 are driven by additional shafts #7 and #8 which are controlled by the robot control unit 10. On non-machining ranges P2-P3, P5-P6 etc. of a workpiece W, only the additional shafts #7 and #8 are actuated and the machining head 3 is moved at a high speed to shorten a cycle time. Whenever the additional shaft is moved, data for relative positions of control points (the tip point of the tool) A and B to a point F fixed at the tip of the arm are corrected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
