<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium by which it can be detected whether data are rewritten, to provide a recording system recording data to the recording medium, and to provide a reproducing system for reproducing data to detect whether the data are rewritten. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic tape 10A (the recording medium) is provided with a substrate 14A, and formed with a rewritable magnetic layer 11A (a first recording layer) and a write-once type optical recording layer 13A (a second recording layer) which are formed on the substrate 14A.
