FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing N-alkyl-2-benzthiazolylsulfenimides. Method involves interaction of 2-benzthiazolylsulfenyl chloride with excess of corresponding alkylamine in anhydrous reaction medium. Water and moisture from the reaction mixture are removed by azeotropic distillation off of a solvent part. Method provides trapping excessive amine by extraction with water for its recirculation to the process, removing the unconverted parent material from crude product by chemical purification with aqueous caustic and extraction of by-side products and resin by washing out the product in organic solvent in aim for preparing pure benzthiazolylsulfenimide containing at least 95% of an active substance that can be used as an accelerating agent in vulcanization processes in rubber mixtures.
