PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image shake correcting device which is used in a still camera, video camera, or the like, and is characterized in that it includes a means for effectively reducing noise causing a trouble in position detection especially using a PSD. SOLUTION: The image shake correcting device includes: an image shake correcting optical system for correcting an image shake caused by a camera shake; a position detecting section for detecting the position of the image shake correcting optical system; an image shake correcting drive section for driving the image shake correcting optical system based upon the detection result of the position detecting section; and a focusing lens drive section for driving a photographic lens to a focused position, wherein the image shake correcting drive section is provided with a means for inhibiting the detecting operation of the position detecting section during the operation of the focusing lens drive section.
