PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lens chamfering device and method for accurately chamfering a peripheral edge of a complicated shape of a glass lens finished with edge grinding. SOLUTION: This lens chamfering device 1 has a lens rotation supporting part 3 for holding the lens 2 to be rotated in a peripheral direction, a chamfering tool 4 for chamfering the peripheral edge of the lens 2, and a chamfering tool supporting part 5 for supporting the chamfering tool 4 to be rotated, driven and vertically freely moved by adding prescribed load. By using the chamfering device 1, the chamfering is performed by a lens chamfering method for pressing the rotating chamfering tool 4 on the peripheral edge of the lens 2 by prescribed load, while rotating the lens 2 in the peripheral direction.
