A measured value of the coordinates is determined, provided that the acceleration (a) of the contact sensing head (26) does not exceed a defined maximum value (a TAU max) during reading contact with the point of measurement (102). In addition the acceleration (a) of the contact sensing head must fall within a defined range of magnitudes (a u-a o) in a defined time interval (T) before measurement.
